Midwinter Muse

The holiday season always asks for a bit of magic and I decided to answer in red. Deep, layered, saturated red. The tree and garlands are red, flocked in red, the ornaments are red, even the lights are red, because why stop at simply being festive when you can go ALL IN?

Our lounge, meanwhile, takes a quieter cue from the landscape beyond the floor-to-ceiling windows. Pine stems, eucalyptus, and glass icicles fall in perfectly imperfect layers, a softer counterpoint to all that bold color in the adjoining rooms.

There’s something wonderfully theatrical about my home dressed for the season. It’s festive, it’s moody, it’s over-the-top in the best possible way. Exactly how the season should be!
